Notes About Painting
Most of the work that we could use a hand with is in the painting. Additionaly Maria may have some work with props. Heres some ideas of what we plan on doing.
Make a white picket fence out of survey lath and 2x4's. This fence jets outside of our building on hinges. The fence will be painted white, in additional trees or other objects may be built on the fence. One such idea is to have sign posts on the fence, with the side facing out showing technical information while the other side shows a for sale sign or lost dog.
Currently Benji is thinking of putting siding on the building. That would mean we wouldn't have to do any painting (he may need help in putting up the siding or the shingles on the roof). The door for the house will need to be painted as will the trim. As you can see from the drawings in the previous post the main display feature of the house is a bay window. The idea for the bay window and the table in front of it is to use it as our focul point for our technical display. The back drop of the bay window (ie. The wall behind the bay window) will display a lving room or hall way with pictures on the wall that in effect are technical posters (ie. information on the steel, concrete testing other technical ellements). When the house starts on fire a pull down sheet (idealy one of those roll up curtains) will show the same scene as before but with everything engulfed with flames.
In addition we were thinking of making a mail box that would host our technical report. Other ellements (time permiting) may also come up as we start constructing and getting an idea of how this will all come togeather.
As I said before Tim will be coordinating painting activity, he will be making an anouncement when he plans to start painting. Likewise Maria will have work to do in the next couple weeks with props and she will be making an announcement when things get under way (which will hopefully be VERY soon).
